Our annual Fur Ball is our largest fundraiser of the year, and literally THE party of the year in Uvalde!  We sell 250 to 275 tickets ($100/ticket, though sponsored tables are more) and have always sold out well in advance of the party's date.  This year's gala will include a Live Auction (which raises $30-$50,000, depending on items offered), a raffle and a Grab Bag event.  We started Grab Bags a few years ago in lieu of a Silent Auction - we have anywhere from 75 to 100 "identical" unmarked bags, each containing an item (or items) worth anywhere from $100 to over $1,000.  Guests pay $100 per bag and pick any bag for their prize.  It allows us to raise $7,500 to $10,000 easily in about an hour (we always sell out quickly), without the rigors of a Silent Auction.  Live Auction and Grab Bag donors are highlighted in social media posts, as well as signage and slide shows at the event itself. 

Funds raised at this event go towards our day to day operations, which includes a robust rescue & adoption program, as well as our spay/neuter voucher program that pays to alter pets of low income residents in Uvalde County.  We also move a portion of our proceeds to our Building Fund, and we are thrilled to announce that we begin construction on our new facility Tuesday, November 21st!  It's been 10 years of planning and dreaming, and this badly needed, spacious building will change the lives of so many unwanted animals in our community.
