Special Reach's gala raises critical funds to help children with disabilities and their families. This event will honor Bexar County Judge & Mrs. Peter Sakai on October 12 at the Hotel Estancia in San Antonio, Texas.

Auction proceeds help fund Special Reach's life-changing programs for children struggling with conditions, such as traumatic brain injury, autism, and cerebral palsy. These special children deserve to enjoy their childhood and engage in activities like their peers without a disability. At Special Reach, they make friends and enjoy sports, games, arts and crafts, and activities they tend to miss out on, such as prom, Fiesta, and costume parties. Special Reach simultaneously provides restorative respite to their parents and caregivers. This well-deserved break helps reduce caregiver stress and improve mental health. Because caregiver stress is a leading cause of child abuse, respite further helps prevent child maltreatment.
