Description

On behalf of the Philadelphia Folksong Society, we are excited to inform you that we are hosting our inaugural Gene Shay / Founders’ Award Benefit Concert on March 12, 2024, at the legendary Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, PA. We are reaching out to request your generous support through an in-kind donation for our event. Your contribution will play a vital role in helping us achieve our goals and make a lasting impact on the future of PFS.

The Philadelphia Folksong Society is dedicated to preserving the past, promoting the present, and securing the future of folk music and related forms of expression through education, presentation and participation. PFS has contributed to the preservation of a variety of musical styles and historical perspectives and has acquired both local acclaim and international recognition through popular programs such as the Philadelphia Folk Festival.

By contributing to our event, you will not only showcase your commitment to folk music and artistic expression, but you will also gain exposure to a diverse audience of potential customers, partners, and community members. Your donated item will be featured in our silent auction, raffle or as a door prize, and we will recognize your generosity in our virtual event program and promotional materials.

The first annual Gene Shay/Founders’ Award Benefit Concert will be a fun night of celebrating 4 awardees whose dedication to the PFS have been integral to our mission. The concert will feature Philadelphia Folk Festival favorites- Christine Lavin, John Flynn and Emily Drinker. There will be 3 ticket options, including opportunities for a pre- show reception and post-show meet and greet with the artists.
