Giving New Hope Benefit 30th Anniversary
Gala/Party for Children's Burn FoundationMar 04, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Join us in celebrating the 30th anniversary of our Giving New Hope benefit! When a devastating burn changes a child's life, the road to recovery is often challenging. For three decades, the Children's Burn Foundation has supported children and families on this journey, providing a roadmap for healing. This past year, we impacted a record 164,000 lives, showing that, despite setbacks, these children can achieve lives full of potential and hope.
Since most burns are preventable, we are dedicated to educating communities in California and worldwide about burn prevention and treatment. On March 4, 2025, we will gather at the Beverly Hilton to celebrate these remarkable children and our advancements in burn prevention education. We will honor Barbara and Charles Pratt, Jr. with the Giving New Hope Award for their commitment to our mission, and Wallis Annenberg will receive the Spirit of Humanity Award for her contributions to our community. Barbara and Charles are dedicated philanthropists with a long history of serving the Children's Burn Foundation and other charitable organizations. Barbara is a founding member of the Council, serving as President from 2015 to 2019 and as Secretary of the Foundation Board since 2016. Her extensive involvement includes leadership roles in fundraising events, and committees focused on Marketing and Development. She is also active with Mitchell College, where she chairs the Trustees Committee, and has contributed to numerous educational institutions and causes. Charles has been a board member of the Children's Burn Foundation since 1995, participating in Prevention and Education and Development Committees. He shares Barbara's commitment to community service, holding leadershiproles at Mitchell College. Charles is a six-time Emmy Award winning writer, producer, director and showrunner on multiple television shows including Desperate Housewives and Melrose Place. Together, Barbara and Charles exemplify an inspirational spirit of generosity and dedication.
Wallis is a renowned philanthropist and champion for children’s causes, making a significant impact through her support of the Children’s Burn Foundation since its inception. As the first recipient of the Giving New Hope award, she has been a vital advocate for burn prevention and recovery. A life trustee of the University of Southern California, she has received numerous accolades, including recognition from the Kennedy Center and the California African American Museum. Wallis serves on the boards of prestigious institutions, including the California Science Center, the LA Philharmonic, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
