Description

Help us to foster curiosity and exploration among our children! Kinderhaven Preschool Academy, a unique early education program located in Lake Forest, Illinois, is preparing for our biggest fundraiser of the year, Giving Tree.

Kinderhaven’s philosophy and educational approach are based on the preschools in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Its innovative curriculum is designed to foster a life-long love of learning by focusing on core values such as creative thinking, exploration and problem solving.  Perhaps most notably, it has an ongoing focus on the concept of “compassion”. Starting at the age of 2.5, children are encouraged to participate in school-wide “compassion projects” through which they can give back to those in need – both locally and globally.

The Kinderhaven Parent Board is in the process of putting together our 12th Annual Giving Tree Gathering, which will take place on May 14,  2022. This annual event helps raise funds for special projects and ongoing teacher education/development.  In the past, local businesses and cultural institutions have helped support Kinderhaven through donations of merchandise or services – all of which are tax deductible.  All donated items will be included in a raffle/auction during this year’s Giving Tree Gathering and 100% of all proceeds are distributed back to the school through the Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Fund – a 501 (c) (3) organization.
