Description

This event will take place on Facebook in a private Facebook group called "Go Gray in May for Brian."  The group has 396 members and is a VERY active group.  This will be the third year holding this online fundraiser and every year the group grows as word continues to spread.  In 2021 we raised $8,000 for the National Brain Tumor Society and in 2022 we raised $10,000.  This year my goal is to raise $12,000.  The online raffles take place during the entire month of May, for Brain Tumor Awareness Month.  There are several raffles every week and each raffle is capped at 50 tickets to give participants great odds of winning.  Every raffle fills up!  The group consists of family, friends, friends of friends, and friends of family.  Donors will be thanked and highlighted in the group a minimum of three times so there is high visibility.  Winners are chosen live on Facebook by spinning a prize wheel.  Many participants watch the drawing live and it's always exciting.

This fundraiser is in honor of my brother, a 14 year Glioblastoma (GBM) survivor!  GBM is an aggressive grade 4 brain cancer with an average prognosis of 18 months.  The 10 year survivor rate is less than 3%.  I have been fundraisising for the National Brain Tumor Society for 14 years and together have helped raise $230,000.  My brother survived this cruel disease and has gone on to run several marathons and become a father of three beautiful children.  I wish this for everyone facing this terrifying diagnosis and won't stop until there's a cure for brain tumors.
