We will hold our 6th Annual Great Bowls of Fire Chili for Champions Cook-off on April 22nd from
12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 903 Brewers. This has been a huge success in the past. We exceeded our goal for last year which was $12,000 and raised almost $13,000 and our goal is to raise
$14,000 - $15,000 this year!
Did you know there were 181 confirmed cases of child abuse and neglect in Grayson County last year? There are 113 children in foster care today. Unfortunately, the number keeps growing. Expenses for children in care are always increasing. These expenses include
clothing, school necessities, dental and medical needs, etc.
This event is our only true fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds directly benefit the children in foster care from Grayson County.  The Chili and Salsa Cook-Off Teams will begin their preparation at 8:00 AM with tastings open to the public at noon. We are hoping to have 20 -25 chili and salsa teams for the day. All the teams will be outside in their designated location for easy access by the public. Each team will provide a tasting of chili, salsa or both to the public and the judges. First and Second Place awards will be given to the winners that were voted on by the selected judges and we will also have a People's Choice Award for the best chili and the best salsa. Along with the cook-off, we will have raffle
prizes and a few silent auction prizes for the public to participate in.
All participants will receive a bag with essentials the day of the event.
Our goal for the event is $14000 - $15000 and all proceeds from the day will benefit the children of Grayson County that are currently in care
with CPS.
