The RPMs students take their little bit of spare time to get together, discuss concerns they have and then put them to action. They participate in community service around the year, from working with houselessness programs, food insecurity programs, and community centers. Every April the local high schools take a week off for spring break. And, while many students spend that time relaxing at home or traveling on vacations, the RPMs High School Youth Group travels to help those in need.  The teens work hard and help change lives but more often than not, the eye-opening experience change the lives of the young volunteers as well.

This year, our students have volunteer at their local food bank, built bunk beds for kids, sent 15,000 meals to the Ukraine, packs tolietry kids for houseless in NYC. From April 9th-15th a group of 10 teens and adult chaperones will work with an organization called Praying Pelican Missions in Providence Rhode Island.  During the week, students will volunteer at different sites around the city serving meals at soup kitchens; rebuild a local community center; and distribute food and supplies at food pantries.

To make all of their projects, includign the Spring Mission Trip a reality, we hold one major fund-raiser, the “Grounds for Giving” Coffeehouse and Silent Auction. This year it is to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 13th at the Delmar Reformed Church, at the Four Corners in Delmar. This fun evening, will feature delicious hors d’oeuvres, desserts and coffees along with lively music by Brian Axford!
