Description
On September 6, 2023 City Greens Market is hosting our annual Growing City Greens fundraiser at the Wild Carrot (3901 Shaw) to raise money for food sovereignty. This event will be a green party (think P. Diddy’s famous white parties, but in green!), and we expect 150+ attendees who will enjoy the hippest music, the freshest farm-to-table food, local beer and wine, and more. All of the money raised for the event goes toward our community-powered food system and food sovereignty, including:
- Doubling the number of people who use SNAP benefits at the Market (and who can use Double Up Food Bucks to get up to $25 of produce free each week!)
- Doubling the number of City Greens members we serve who qualify as low income
- Offering monthly nutrition, cooking, and gardening education throughout 2024
- Supporting new local farmers, particularly Black, women, non-binary, and urban farmers
