Description
The Guardian Angel Dinner Dance is Catholic Charities' signature fundraising event and is a wonderful celebration and salute to some very special people who have positively impacted our ability to meet the needs of the poor and vulnerable. Awards include:

The Richard J. Hughes, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton Humanitarian Award: In 1992, Catholic Charities instituted the Humanitarian award and named it after Governor Richard J. Hughes (and presented by his son, Judge John J. Hughes) to recognize his great support and commitment to the work of Catholic Charities. It is presented to an outstanding leader with a commitment to humanitarian causes; a devoted advocate of Catholic Charities and the betterment of mankind in general; who strives to improve the quality of life of individuals across all economic and social lines through dedication and compassion.

Light of Hope Award(s) (Burlington/Mercer/Monmouth/Ocean): Honoring a person/persons in Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counties for their support and commitment to the work of Catholic Charities in their individual community.

Corporate Citizen of the Year Award: Recognition of a corporation who has partnered with Catholic Charities to support our goals with their support and commitment.

Client Achievement Award: Presented to a Catholic Charities’ consumer that has successfully utilized agency services and epitomizes Catholic Charities’ mission to alleviate suffering and improve the quality of life of individuals and families.

Marlene Laó-Collins, executive director of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton, announced that the last year's Dinner Dance was an extraordinary success. “More than 500 attended the dinner dance that generated $230,000 in operating funds for our agency,” said Laó-Collins. “Our celebration was a great opportunity for us to tell the story of the transforming impact Catholic Charities makes in our community for children, youth, and adults. Our mission is inspired by the Gospel and I firmly believe we are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ reaching out to those most in need. It is through the generous support of our donors and volunteers that we are able make this difference.
