Since 2005, the H-E-B Celebrity Cookoff event has raised nearly $1.67 million dollars for Waco ISD Education Foundation classroom grants benefiting our local students, teachers and staff.  Those funds would not be possible without the generous efforts of our volunteer chefs and community support.

Approximately 35 chefs will prepare a favorite item from their kitchen, enough for approximately 250 sample-size servings.  A panel of judges will pick award-winning items based on taste and creativity, and event guests will vote on their “People’s Choice” favorites with dollars at each chef’s table.

This event is our primary fundraiser, and in years past we have raised more than $100,000. Our goal this 18th year is to raise the bar and make it the most successful single event ever for the Foundation.

We are also proud to tell you all proceeds go to the district’s students, helping to fund innovative learning projects created by our district’s teachers.

Each year, guests in attendance have opportunities to participate in a Live and Silent Auction. This component of the event has been very successful for both the fundraising aspect as well as getting guests out into the business community.
