Event Name: Harm Reduction Circle Meetups in Orange County on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday
Date: May 02 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM PDT
Location: Orange County California
Harm Reduction Circle is seeking donations to reduce the harm associated with drug use and promote safer partying in the festival and music community. The festival community often lacks support for non-opioid users, leaving them vulnerable to harm from drug-related activities. With over 13,151 individuals trained, 8,746 free shipments delivered, 27,172 individual doses distributed, and 170 overdose reversals, our organization has a proven track record of providing harm reduction services to individuals in the festival, concert, and nightlife community. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is to utilize evidence-based strategies to reduce overdose and other drug-related harm in the music festival, concert, and nightlife communities.
Event Information:
We're excited to announce our latest initiative: Harm Reduction Circle Meetups in Orange County on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month! Our aim is to bring together like-minded individuals who share our passion for harm reduction & community outreach.
Join us at a local coffee shop or restaurant in Orange County at 12:00pm to socialize & work on creating harm reduction kits. These kits include essential supplies like Narcan, syringes, informational packets, & other essential items we may have available. We'll wrap up kit-making by 3:00pm. On the 1st Tuesday of each month, participants will have the option to participate in street-based outreach from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, distributing some of the kits we've made to those in need.
Our meetups offer an excellent opportunity to connect with others, contribute to the community, & make a genuine difference. In Orange County, California we are committed to leaving a positive impact on the world together.
Objectives: We aim to provide harm reduction services and resources to the festival and music community in order to reduce the risk of harm associated with drug use and promote safe practices. Specific objectives include:
To provide harm reduction education and advocacy efforts to festival-goers and the music community.
To provide resources such as drug checking, safe sex supplies, and overdose prevention training at festivals and music events.
To create a culture of harm reduction within the community by working with festival organizers, artists, and influencers to promote harm reduction practices and awareness.
To reduce harm and increase safety for all individuals in the festival and music community, particularly non-opioid users.
To prioritize the most vulnerable populations, including people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals, who are disproportionately affected by drug-related harms.
To evaluate the success of the program through rigorous research and evaluation methods.
To inform best practices for harm reduction in the festival and music community.
To expand the program to reach even more individuals in need.
