Description

The Summer(ish) Soiree is our annual fundraiser that raises funds for our mission of inclusion. This year we are hosting it at Marshall Park in Vancouver, Washington, site of the biggest inclusive playground we have built to date. The event will consist of dinner, entertainment, auction, and an inspiring program. We expect over 350 guests and our goal is to raise $400,000 to build more inclusive playgrounds.

Harper’s Playground inspires vital communities by creating inviting playgrounds for people of all abilities. We are building a more inclusive world, one playground at a time. We design and create radically inclusive, sustainably built, nature-infused playgrounds where people of all abilities play together and thrive. Our playgrounds revitalize public parks to include people who are cut off from outdoor exploration and play due to design flaws in typical playgrounds that exclude people who experience physical or mental disabilities. Since 2010, Harper’s Playground has established the Portland metro area as a national model for inclusive design, mentored community leaders to help them create inclusive playgrounds in their own communities, and consulted across the world.
