HASC Annual Family Picnic
Carnival/Festival for Hebrew Academy for Special ChildrenJun 08, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM
HASC-Woodmere is a non-profit, special education program that provides a safe an stimulating learning environment for very young children with learning disabilities and/or developmental delays. These children receive both educational and therapeutic services in our Woodmere facility at no expense to their parents. Our goal for each child is to have him/her develop to the maximum potential possible and to be able to function in the mainstream of society.
Our Annual Family Picnic is our lrgest fundraising event of the school year. This event is an opportunity for our young studenets and their families to enjoy a social afternoon together playing on our playground, enjoying entertainment by a clown and a petting farm, eating picnic lunch together, and enjoying spending time with friends, classmates, and staff members. We expect between 250-300 participants to our event. Our event will take place on June 8, 2025. The picnic also provides an opportunity for our parents to bid on silent auction items and to purchase raffle tickets for several large "theme baskets" containing items donated ot the school. Through this fundraising effort, our school is able to provide trips, in-school entertainment, and special events for our students. Fundraising fro our picnic also allows us to make special purchases for our school, such as playground equipment, classroom and therapy toys, and other specialied equipment to enhance the educational and therapeutic experience for our students.
So often families of young children with special needs struggle to find activities and experiences that are appropriate for their special needs child. Our school is seen as an oasis for these families in a world where they sometimes feel like they don't fit in. We are proud of our special skills and proud of the amazing work we do for our young students and families. Your generosity will continue to help enhance the lives of the children in our program.
