Description

To Whom It May Concern,

For the past 20 years, Head for the Cure has hosted national 5K runs/walks to raise funds for brain tumor research and increase awareness and hope to support the brain cancer community including patients, caregivers, and family. We are excited to host our 12th Annual Head for the Cure 5K – North Texas on Saturday, May 7th, 2022, at Red Tail Pavilion.

At each of our events, the net proceeds are directly gifted to a local beneficiary and the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative (BTTC). For the event in North Texas, the local beneficiary will be UT Southwestern, which is a member of the BTTC. The BTTC consists of 30 hospitals that collaborate research efforts to defeat brain cancer.

Head for the Cure dedicates an event coordinator who is responsible for obtaining all permits, insurance, event services/vendors (police, EMT, dumpsters, porta-potties, etc.), and maintaining communication with local officials, vendors, and planning partners. In addition, we have a race director who travels with us to set up the race layout and troubleshoot any logistics along the route.

The event will be marketed locally through UT Southwestern, Gray Matters, local companies, online (headforthecure.org), social media, and other local avenues.
