Healing Hearts 5K Walk/Run for Suicide Prevention- - Pay-What-You-Can ($30 recommended donation)
Crisis Support Services of Alameda County’s 11th Annual Healing Hearts: 5K Walk/Run for Suicide Prevention is both a live event at Laney College and a Virtual event whereever you want to do the event!
This event will help raise awareness to the tragedy of suicide, help reduce the stigma associated with depression and mental illness, educate the community about available services, support local suicide prevention programs, and provide a safe place to heal for those who have lost loved ones to suicide as a community.
For the first time in two years, we will have a live and super-fun event at the stadium at Laney College in Oakland. A fast, scenic course starts at the stadium and snakes out to Lake Merritt before heading to a stadium finish on the track.
OR participants completes a 5K (3.1 mile) course of their own design over a one-week period from May 9th to May 14th. They could post the photos showing their progress to #healinghearts5K. This website will also record finish times.
With our “pay what you can” model with a suggested donation of $30 — everyone can participate and are most excited about you getting your friends and family involved!
