Our mission is to eliminate barriers to success for at-risk children and families in Southern Wake County by providing essential resources and support in the home, classroom, and community.

Community of Hope was formed in 2004. In honor of our 20th Anniversary year, we are excited to host a Silent Auction Fundraiser at The Pavilion at Carriage Farm in Garner on February 8, 2024, to raise funds for our programs. Community of Hope Ministries operates 10 different ministries in the greater Garner area including:

·         Free, After School Enrichment Program for At-Risk elementary aged students

*students in grades K - 5 who are below grade level in reading and math.

*students who are economically disadvantaged.

·         Food Pantry – Over 325,000 meals given out in 2023; Childhood Hunger Food Assistance Program impacting 7500 families: Sponsor of 2 high school food pantries, a middle school pantry; snack partnership with Backpack Buddies - Night time drive through food hub for the elderly and the physically challenged.

·         Summer Camp “Camp Good Hope” – affordable, Christian summer day camp with safe, structured, educational activities ~ 75 to 100 children each week for 8 weeks in 2024 Scholarships for campers who cannot afford to attend.

·         Crisis Assistance – financial assistance for utilities, rent, mortgage.

·         Carpenter’s Hands – home repairs for the elderly, widowed and physically challenged.

·         Jobs for Life – Biblically based job readiness program aimed at teaching the unemployed and the underemployed the necessary skill sets to acquire and keep a job.

·         Financial Literacy Class – small teacher student ratio offering management strategies for balancing a budget with limited income.

·         Garden of Hope - Vegetable Garden growing fresh vegetables for the food insecure.

·         Track- Out Camp for Track 4 Students in the greater Garner area.

·         Furniture Ministry - free furniture for families transitioning or moving to permanent housing.
