Description

Heart of Texas Destination Imagination CPSO respectfully requests a donation to support Destination Imagination (DI) teams in Central Texas at our Silent Auction at our Regional Tournament in February 2025.  The money raised from the Silent Auction will help fund teams that advance from our Regional Tournament to the Global Tournament held in May each year in Kansas City.

In today’s fast-paced, high-tech world, being a student is more exciting and more complicated than ever. How can we help kids gain the skills necessary to become innovators and leaders in the modern world? Destination Imagination is a global education nonprofit that offers project-based Challenges to reinforce the four Cs: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. DI participants emerge ready to forge their own futures with curiosity and courage.

Destination Imagination is a 501(c)(3) education nonprofit that was founded in 1999 to fulfill a vision to inspire and equip participants to achieve anything they can imagine in life. A 2014 study by Dr. Mark A. Runco of the University of Georgia found that DI participants are more engaged and imaginative when completing given tasks, more self-confident and tenacious, and more creative than non-DI participants. 86% of surveyed DI participants reported that their teamwork skills improved. DI currently serves 150,000 participants across 45 US states and 30 countries, including 9 counties within the Heart of TExas Region.  Local DI teams include students from Leander ISD, Round Rock ISD, Georgetown ISD, Belton ISD and West ISD..

We are modifying the way we do business to ensure that the DI experience remains equitable to all participants. Support from organizations like yours will ensure that opportunities like these remain affordable and accessible to all students in our community.
