As summer 2023 approaches, we have officially launched the 2nd Annual 5K Walk2Remember, to take place on Saturday June 17th at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. Based on our first year’s results, we are expecting upwards of 300 people participating, with both attendance and community interest bolstered by a multifaceted marketing/promotion campaign leading up to the Walk.

Halton-based Heartache2Hope is the only organization in Ontario providing supportive services aimed at reducing the impact and long-term effects of a suicide loss.  To strengthen grievers' resilience and reengagement in life, our Professional and Peer Individual and Group support services help individuals with the effects of trauma and the complicated grieving process, and we promote renewed psychological wellbeing through trauma and grief education, teaching coping strategies, emotional support, social connection, and professional counselling.

Between our launch in 2014 and the end of 2022, we have responded to more than 1040 inquiries, inquiries, supported 277 individuals in our Closed Support Groups, hosted more than 1010 attendees at our semi-monthly Open Support Groups and more than 450 attendees at our new Wellness Workshops and Activities, and provided more than 2500 Individual Counselling, Trauma Therapy and Peer Support hours for 300 individuals.  We do not charge for our services to allow accessibility to everyone in need. 

In order to help us meet the growing need, Heartache2Hope expanded our fundraising efforts in 2022 by launching our 5K Walk2Remember, a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together, remember loved ones, and raise needed funds to support our services. The inaugural Walk2Remember exceeded all expectations, with more than 250 participants raising funds and walking for Heartache2Hope who along with sponsors raised over $100,000 to fund our supportive services.
