Description

The Sons Of Ben Board is happy to announce Help Kick Hunger 2024, our annual fundraiser to help raise funds for our friends at the Bernardine Center, will be held on Saturday February 3rd, 2024 at Broken Goblet Brewing in Bensalem, PA. As with every year we host this wonderful event and with our growing numbers this year, we expect a great crowd and fun atmosphere! Through ticket sales, raffles and silent auctions, Help Kick Hunger is always an exciting time and wonderful opportunity to support our community in Chester.

You might recognize the Sons of Ben as the rowdy, rambunctious supporters group of the Philadelphia Union, but that’s not all we do! The Sons of Ben are very dedicated to continuing the legacy of philanthropy started by our founders over fifteen years ago. We focus on sustaining non-profits and community led organizations that are important to our membership, and that serve the communities where we live and work. We are especially dedicated to supporting organizations in Chester, our home away from home.

The Bernardine Center was founded in 1986 by Franciscan nuns to meet the needs of low income Chester residents, and provides assistance to those in need regardless of race, national origin, age, religion, sex, orientation, or disability. The Bernardine Center offers a variety of programming to meet the diverse needs of the clients that they serve, including an emergency and supplemental food bank, baby supplies, a neighborhood computer lab and more. The Center offers educational programming, including anger management, English as a Second Language (ESL), and parenting classes, and a training program for schools and other organizations on human trafficking. The Bernardine Center is currently the only agency providing services on the west side of Chester. Through their West Side Brunch program, they provide hot, nutritious meals to nearly 400 people in need each month!
