The Helpful Harvest is an annual fundraising event sponsored by UNG Gainesville Staff Council, which falls under the umbrella of the UNG Foundation, which in turrn serves to manage our institutions charitable gifts. Helpful Havest is a catered luncheon with live and silent auctions of gifts donated by our local and regional partners. Guests of the event purchase tickets for entry, which civer the catering costs. All other costs of this event are covered by donations from Staff Council and its supporters. All proceeds from the auctions are directly forwarded to our in-house food and clothing pantry, which serves more than 100 food-insecure students per month. The pantry relies on grants and donations which, during these times of greater need, are not able to cover the costs of keeping food and toiletry items stocked.
