Dear Supporter:

On June 11, 2023, Hospice Dufferin will be holding its annual Hike for Hospice Dufferin and Butterfly Release.

Since, 1988, Hospice Dufferin has been providing compassion, care, and support to those in our community who are experiencing the challenges of a life-limiting illness, who are bereaved, or who are caregivers to those they love. Our vision is to provide peace, comfort, and dignity for all people in our community. Here is a snapshot of our impact on the community. In 2021, we supported 55% of our clients dying at home as per their wishes, an increase from 38% dying at home in 2020. In 2021, we served 297 clients and completed 3976 sessions of service. In addition, we were able to provide caregivers with 50 caregiver support bags.

Hike for Hospice Dufferin is a national event that is connected to National Palliative Care Week in Canada. Each year Hospices across the country organize and hold Hikes to help generate much-needed funds and awareness about the importance of Hospice Care in our community.

We are all touched by Hospice Care. We have either experienced a life-limiting illness or know someone who has, we all experience grief, and some of us will become caregivers to someone we love.

Hike for Hospice Dufferin brings people together in our community to support, comfort, and reflect on the beautiful trails of Monora Park in Orangeville. We will be encouraging participants to share videos and photos of their hike experience on their social media channels. Over the years, we’ve had amazing community involvement who have come together to walk and support our organization and the families and clients that we serve.

This year we have combined two events our Hike and our Butterfly Release into one event and will be holding it in June. Registration for the event will be opening soon, however, we are currently working on our fundraising goals which will include new this year an online Silent Auction which will allow us to open up our offerings to a much larger audience.

The silent auction will be held on a site called Trellis and we will be able to promote it on our website and social media sites. The nice thing about this for our donors and sponsors is it allows us to have a hyperlink to your business.

This is a great way to promote your donation and your website.

Your business can be a part of the movement to support families coping with life-limiting illness, and grief, or are caregivers to loved ones.

With the support of sponsors like you, we hope to raise $15,000 for the 2023 Hike for Hospice Dufferin and Butterfly Release.

We are asking for a donation that we can use for our silent auction.

You and your Business will help Men, Women, and Children in Dufferin County, access the help they need when they need it.
