On behalf of the Lockport Ice Arena board of directors, I would like to share some information about our annual Cornerstone CFUC Arena Hockey Day in Lockport, held annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  This year’s celebration will take place on November 26, 2022, with events planned from 8AM – 10PM.  Hockey Day incorporates everything fun there is to do on ice including youth games, Lockport High School Alumni games, sled hockey, public ice skating (proceeds benefitting the Salvation Army of Lockport), ice bumper car rides (courtesy of Niagara County legislators), a Lockport-Niagara Falls Section VI hockey game and a Buffalo Stampede Jr. Hockey game.  Additionally, we offer family fun throughout the day with Mr. No the Balloon Guy, crafts and raffles.  If history truly repeats, we expect to welcome about 3,000 visitors in our arena throughout the day.

 This day will also be the kick-off to our Zamboni Fundraising Appeal.  We need a new machine to keep our ice smooth as glass, and we need to raise $150,000 to acquire it.  In memory of one of our founding board members, John T. “Tate” Pitrello, we will be dedicating “Tate’s Corner” in our upper level.  Here, we will be hosting a silent auction.  This where I hope you can help with a donation?  All donors will be generously thanked at the event, as well as through our social media posts and silent auction online platform.
