My name is Chris Demaras and I am president of The Sanibel School PTA.

 
The Sanibel community has been devastated by Hurricane Ian and our Sanibel School family has been impacted exponentially.  Teachers, employees, and school families alike have lost their homes, jobs and possessions.  For our kids – the future is unknown at this moment.  Our school was being used as a tent city for national guard and electric company employees as they rebuild the island’s infrastructure.  Our amazing school community is trying to adjust to a new normal for the foreseeable future with so many questions unanswered.   While we don’t know what rebuilding our school or our community will look like, we do know that we are proud of our island and the amazing community we are proud to be a part of.  We are SanibelStrong but quite honestly, we need help.  We will need untold resources to recover the learning environment for our students. 

 
The Sanibel School PTA is asking for your help.  We love our teachers and our school and want to show our students that the notion of community is not limited by the water that surrounds our island.  Please consider showing our Sea Dragons that they are not alone.  Our PTA is dedicated and determined.  We sincerely appreciate any help you can give.

 
At this time, we are putting together gift card bundles for our teachers and staff whom have expressed an immediate need for food, clothing, toiletries, gas, cars, furniture and more. Please help by donating up to 50 items and/or gift cards to include in these holiday bundles.
