All proceeds will benefit Emily's Smile Boxes. Emily's Smile Boxes was established in 2009. They provide boxes full of activities to pediatric patients and their siblings during hospital stays and rehabilitiation. To date more than 25,000 boxes have been distributed. In addition to her boxes this year we will feature the Jude Ortiz Memorial Scholarship. Emily's little brother Jude was the inspiration for her charity. Jude suffered a massive stroke as a baby and spent many days in the hospital. As a child Emily found the setting to be boring and sad so she started filling boxes full of joy for other children. Jude lost his battle at 7 years, 7 months, and 7 days old. Emily continues her charity to this day to honor him. This once a year $2500 scholarshp will be given to a pediatric patient in need of durable medical equipment or other needs.
