Ready to show your horsepower?  Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue has rescheduled its third annual “Hoofin’ It for Horses” 5K Trail Run for Sunday October 4, 2020.  Hope’s Legacy is a local 501(c)(3) charity located in western Albemarle county.

This time around, we are offering runners three different ways to participate:

1)      Virtually, at your convenience, at your own location! Then post pictures of your race at #hoofinitforhorses. 

2)      By appointment!  Choose a specific time slot to come out and run the 5K Trail at Hope’s Legacy’s Castle Rock Farm.  You can run alone, or with a group of people you feel safe running with (family, friends, running crew, etc.)  Make your appointment at RunSignUp, and have your individual group members register to run under the virtual race option.

3)      On Sunday, October 4th at Castle Rock Farm! 

Any way you run this race, you’ll feel great. Not only will you get a great workout, but your participation directly helps the horses and donkeys in our care. Since 2008 Hope’s Legacy has rescued, rehabilitated and adopted out over 300 equines, and the need for our services continues to increase.  You can be a big help to this cause by Hoofin it Your Way!

Please note, Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue is observing all COVID-19 recommendations set forth by the Commonwealth of Virginia and the CDC.  We strive to provide the safest, most comfortable environment for our visitors at Castle Rock Farm.  Please observe social distancing and mask requirements when visiting. Our event is subject to the COVID-19 guidelines in place from September 18th through October 4th. Your in-person race registration may be converted to a virtual race if circumstances require it.

Also, on October 4th, from 11AM to 3PM, enjoy our free Open House!  Come meet our horses and donkeys and learn about the special world of equine rescue. Food, vendors, a self-guided farm tour and tack sale will be available.  This is a fun outdoor event with lots to do for the whole family!

Race Cost:   Early registration (until September 18, 2020) for all races: $30. Late registration (Sept. 19th through Oct. 1): $40.
