The Friendly Towns program provides a summer experience where NYC children, ages 8-18, have the opportunity to have unique and fun summers in a new environment. The children stay with Volunteer Host Families who live in small towns, suburban and rural communities along the East Coast; Many families live in the tristate area. First time visits are for one week, and returners can stay for longer visits. Many children return to the same family each summer, forming special friendships and gaining new perspectives. These Friendly Towns visits are full of fun experiences like playing in the backyard, riding bicycles, barbeques, swimming, making new friends and having fun!
