The Foundation for UCP of Sacramento and Northern California presents the annual UCP Humanitarian of the Year Award Dinner, Sacramento’s premier humanitarian award. The event honors community leaders who have displayed a passion for life and a desire to work toward enhancing the lives of others. This gala event attracts more than 500 community and business leaders who attend Sacramento’s premier humanitarian event each year. In the 26 years of holding this event over $3.9 million has been raised for children, adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Foundation for UCP of Sacramento and Northern California's annual Humanitarian of the Year Award Dinner raises funds for UCP's wide variety of programs that empower people with developmental disabilities. UCP serves children and adults with over 20 types of developmental disability, 54% of clients have autism, 26%, intellectual disability 9% cerebral palsy and 11% Down syndrome, epilepsy and many more.

UCP provides services that include an adaptive horsemanship program, adult day programs serving 433, independent living skills training, in-home respite care for families providing 21,500 hours/month, 4,180 miles/day of transportation and recreational programs. UCP is dedicated to empower people with developmental disabilities to live life without limits
