70 years of service to the Burbank Community – FSA was founded by a BUSD School Psychologist and a group of community volunteers and has been sustained by the entire Burbank Community for 70 years.
VISION – For every individual, a safe, healthy, & meaningful life.
OUR MISSION – To provide counseling, education, prevention, & advocacy. To empower children, adults and families. To achieve psychological, emotional, & social wellness.
OUR PURPOSE - IS PEACE – peace of mind for the youth, adults, families of our community.
Programs
1. Based Care for Youth, Adults & Families
· Individual and group Counseling
· Veterans Group – free counseling
· Battered Women’s Survivor Group (30 years) – free counseling
· Depressions & Anxiety Group
· Teen/Parent Substance Abuse group
· Art Therapy
· Samonas Sound Therapy (“Spectrally Activated Music of Optimal Natural Structures”)
· LA County Probation Dept. Approved Child Abuse Intervention Program
· LA County Probation Dept. Approved Domestic Abuse Intervention Program
· LA County Probation Dept. Approved Anger Management Intervention program
· Parent Support 12,26,52 week program – Wednesday evening and Saturday morning parents divide up in to age groups of children 0-10 and 11 and up. Class fee is $215.00
· Therapeutic Monitored Visitation Services
· Family Violence Program – 24-hour comprehensive support services for adults & child survivors of Domestic abuse.
· Foster, Homeless & High Risk Youth Program – comprehensive free services for Foster, Homeless & High-Risk youth & their Families
· FSA’S Clinical Training Program
· Mental Health Case Advocacy
· Grief Groups starting Fall of 2019 for adults and children
2. Burbank Unified School District On-Site Services – since 2002 at CDS
· 11 Elementary Schools
· 3 Middles schools

· 3 Alternative Education Schools
· 2 High School Wellness Centers (BHS - 2016 & JBHS - 2017) The mission of the “Centers” on campus are to provide all students a confidential therapeutic environment where they can decompress, receive situational support, psycho-education interventions and, when beneficial, a link to critical mental health care.

4. Joslyn Center On-Site Services – 2018
· Senior Support Group 2015, 2 ½ days a therapist is on site, working with social worker to identify anyone who needs mental health services.
5. FSA’S Transitional Homes – 24-hour Residential Care (8 therapist is assigned to these programs, must submit a request for visitors and no one is allowed to stay overnight. All programs are drug and alcohol free. Background, and credit checks are doe on everyone)
· The Care Cottages (Puerta Nueva)– Serving Families Fleeing Domestic Abuse – 2006
3 year program, 5 units, 5 families, referrals, application process, custody of children full or 50/50, earn min of $1,200, goal setting, weekly counseling for adult and children 4 and above. They pay for rent and utilities. After 3 years they qualify for Burbank Housing Corp. 100% success rate.

· Home Front – Serving Fragile Homeless Families – 2009
A 2-year program, 7 units that vary in size and income, must do individual counseling, set goals, low monthly rent and utilities. By application.
· Linden House – Serving Homeless Youth – ages 14-24 – 2011
3 cottages with two rooms in each, weekly counseling group and individual, pay rent of $215.00 per month, set goals, must be in school or have a job, must have high school diploma or equitant.
6. Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center Mental Health
· 2 1/2 days of mental health advocates – after care
7. Fundraising – FSA raises 38% of its annual budget. In 2016/17 fiscal year FSA spent 12 cents of every dollar raised for fundraising leaving 88 cents for client care.

9. Value of Care – Conservative market value of FSA’s mental health direct services provides to the Burbank Community in 2016-16 fiscal year was 4.5 million dollars.
