As you may be aware, International Overdose Awareness Day activities are held in communities around the world every year. This year we invite you to join the Southern Nevada Harm Alliance (SNHRA) in supporting the 6th Annual International Overdose Awareness Day event in Las Vegas on Wednesday, August 31st 2022 at Chuck Minker Sports Complex located at 275 N Mojave Rd, Las Vegas NV 89101 from 5pm- 7:30pm.  

SNHRA is requesting an In-kind donation for the event or participation as a table sponsor. SNHRA is a group that is committed to reducing the risk of harm to people who use drugs by reducing drug related stigma, overdoses and educating people and the community on the effects of drugs within the Southern Nevada Community regardless of their circumstances.

Worldwide, there were over 500 activities to support International Overdose Awareness Day in 2017, over 750 in 2018, and 2022 promises to be an even bigger year than any of the previous events. International Overdose Awareness Day aims to raise awareness about overdose, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths and remember those who have died or suffered injury due to drug overdose. It is also an opportunity to stimulate discussion about evidence-based overdose prevention. International Overdose Awareness Day also presents an opportunity to help the wider community understand that drug overdose is a social issue, and no one is immune to drug related harm. There were over 600 overdoses in 2021.

Locally, The SNHRA event features overdose reversal trainings, an educational event with guest speakers and a candlelight vigil to honor those who lost their lives tragically due to overdose. It would be great if your organization would join us at our event this year or help us to support overdose awareness through in-kind donations for our raffle table at the event. All donations are accepted and greatly appreciated. A receipt will be provided to all donors and donations are tax deductible.
