Description

The Invent the Future Challenge is designed to engage middle school students of diverse backgrounds in projects
that bring together technical skill building, creative problem solving, and social-emotional development. The program exposes students to a variety of STEM experiences and builds life skills which will help them succeed in the future and encourage them to consider STEM career pathways.

The Invent the Future Challenge encourages students to address a community or global problem by developing, designing, and prototyping an innovative solution to the Challenge Question: "What will you make to protect life on this planet?"

Working in teams, students engage in the Engineering Design Process while working through failure and
iterating on their ideas. On June 4, an in-person Challenge Summit will be the culmination of the Invent the Future Challenge. At this
festive event, middle school teams showcase their prototype inventions to the community, and the results from Showcase judging are presented at an awards ceremony.
