Description

The Japan-America Society of Houston (JASH) is pleased to announce the return of the silent auction to our annual JASH BASH anniversary celebration, which will be held this year on Tuesday, November 15, at Minute Maid Park.

JASH BASH 2022 will commemorate the Society’s 54th anniversary while marking the 150th anniversary of the introduction of baseball to Japan.  In addition, JASH BASH 2022 will celebrate the reconnecting of citizens across borders through the City of Houston’s Japan Investment and Trade Mission. The mission led by Mayor Sylvester Turner punctuates the importance of people-to-people exchange in a year honoring the 150th anniversary of the Iwakura Mission that sent over 100 leaders of Meiji Japan to the United States.

Join us in celebrating these special U.S.-Japan milestones with a silent auction donation that you feel would be appropriate.  Whether a gift certificate or a special experience, your gift will be recognized before a targeted audience of 300+ Japanese and American corporate and community leaders.  All donations in support of the gala are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Monies raised will benefit the Japan-America Society of Houston’s business, cultural, and educational programs that encourage mutual understanding between Japanese and Americans.

JASH is the only organization in Houston entirely dedicated to fostering relationships between Japanese and American members of the Houston community. To that end, JASH offers Japanese language instruction for non-Japanese speakers, sponsorship of regional and state-wide Japanese language competitions, activities to bring together Japanese residents of Houston with others in the Houston area community, a full range of activities celebrating Japanese culture, including the annual Japan Festival attended by approximately 30,000 Houston area residents, and events exploring Japanese-US issues in the areas of business, trade, economics and international relations.

We thank you and look forward to your support of a special evening saluting U.S.-Japan ties.
