Journey School Parent Cabinet is hosting Journey School’s 24th Annual Auction Gala on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. at the Aliso Viejo Ranch. The evening will be a memorable event celebrating the unique and creative mission of Journey School, coupled with a themed night through the imaginative arts lens of Classic Hollywood: From the Roaring ‘20s to the Swinging ‘60s. We encourage our attendees to dress in character or
costume in celebration of this special community gathering! Our gala night will include both silent and live auctions, music, a cocktail reception followed by dinner, a photobooth and plenty of laughter and dancing. Our fundraising goal of $70,000 will empower Journey to continue offering an exceptional curriculum and specialty
programs tuition-free.

ABOUT JOURNEY SCHOOL:

The mission of Journey School is to educate K-8 students in Southern California, guided by the Core Principles of Public Waldorf Education, in a public school setting. Journey School is dedicated to the optimal development of the intellect, social-emotional well-being, and physical capabilities of each student by artistically presenting core academic subjects.

IMPORTANCE OF SPONSORSHIPS AND DONATIONS:

Private schools offering this curriculum charge upwards of $22,500 in tuition per year, making it inaccessible to most families in Orange County. Journey School was founded more than 23 years ago as the first public charter school in the Capistrano Unified School District so that all Orange County families could access alternative education regardless of income. Journey now serves over 500 children and regularly maintains a robust waitlist.

Public funds provided to Journey School are not enough to sustain this abundant curriculum. Support from
Journey’s families and the greater community is required to ensure the endurance and thriving of both our core curriculum and beloved specialty programs such as art, music, handwork, woodworking, cooking, digital media literacy, and eco-literacy.

HOW TO SUPPORT JOURNEY SCHOOL:

Sponsor the Auction: Support the event by becoming a sponsor at the Oscar, Golden Globe or Emmy Level
Purchase an Auction Table: Bring your friends and family together by reserving a table
Volunteer your time on the Auction Committee: Give your time and offer your ideas to the committee
Make the Calls: Assist with acquiring Silent and Live Auction items and experiences
Explore Additional Sponsorship Opportunities: Review a variety of tiers beginning at $350
Donation: collect or give goods, services, experiences, or gift cards to be used for the auction.
