Description

June 2019

Last year the Kiwanis Club of Lakeland hosted its annual Kiwanis Cares
for Kids Auction, but added a twist, turning the evening into a Caribbean
Casino Night. The evening was a huge success and thanks to you, the Club
met its goal to name a bed in the Child/Adolescent Unit at Peace River
Center’s Lakeland Crisis Campus. This project followed the Club’s annual
tradition of finding a need in the community and engaging Club members
and the community to address it. In the past we have devoted our efforts to
great organizations such as: LVIM, Dream Center of Lakeland, Parker Street
Ministries and many other well-known organizations in the community. This
year the Club has committed to the biggest project in the Club’s history.
The Kiwanis Club of Lakeland, along with the North Lakeland Kiwanis Club
and Citrus Center Kiwanis Club have partnered on a two-year project at
Bonnet Springs Park.
Bonnet Springs Park is a new 180+ acre park under construction at the
corner of Kathleen Road and George Jenkins Blvd. Just minutes from
downtown, this impressive park will drastically change the landscape of our
city. The park is projecting a late 2020 opening and will include nature
trails, a restaurant, an amphitheater, Explorations V Children’s Museum and
many other exciting features. One of those other exciting features is the
Kiwanis Cares for Kids Treehouse.

Elevated among the branches of beautiful Oaks, covered by canopies, the
Kiwanis Treehouse, will allow children to be immersed in nature. Indoor
amenities will make this facility great for parties, events or your everyday
visit to the park. The Treehouse will also give children a unique way to
experience nature. Telescopes will be placed along the walkways which
allow guests to look out into the park. The Kiwanis Treehouse is sure to be
the centerpiece of the park.

The goal to fund the Kiwanis Treehouse is $250,000. We are well on our
way to reaching our goal, but we cannot make this dream a reality without
your help. We will be hosting The Kiwanis Cares for Kids Caribbean Casino
Night on September 6, 2019. The night will be an evening of food, drinks
and games with a Caribbean flair. Enclosed is this year’s sponsorship
information. I ask for your positive consideration in support of the Kiwanis
Cares for Kids Caribbean Casino Night to benefit the Treehouse at Bonnet
Springs Park.

If you have any questions about the sponsorship opportunities, please call

Imagine. Play. Give.
