The Krispy Kreme Challenge is a non-profit race that benefits the UNC Children's Hospital. It is a 5 mile race put on by NC State students where runners start at NC State's memorial belltower, run 2.5 miles to the nearest Krispy Kreme to eat a dozen doughnuts, and then run 2.5 miles back. What was a dare between friends is now NC State's largest student tradition and attracts people worldwide. All money raised through sponsorships, donations, and race registrations goes to UNC Children's Hospital as an unrestricted donation. As an unrestricted donation, UNC Children's Hospital is free to use our donation for whatever they need and ensures this money can cover things they might not have funds for otherwise. We are proud to say we are their largest unrestricted donor and have been able to raise over $2.2 million thus far.
