Description

We are kindly asking for your support for our 6th Annual KTSA Golf Tournament, Dinner Event and Auction Fundraiser on June 5, 2023.

On June 12, 2017, the unimaginable happened. Chad Harrell - our beloved son, brother and friend - tragically took his own life. In the aftermath of this horror, the “Keep the Spark Alive” Foundation (KTSA) was created. Paying homage to Chad’s lacrosse nickname, “Spark Plug”, the foundation was ignited, just as Chad fired up his fellow teammates when he was on the lacrosse field. The foundation was initially created to honor Chad by providing scholarships for his fellow lacrosse players but has evolved into an organization determined to prevent teen suicide by funding innovative programs and initiatives, supporting those left behind in the aftermath of suicide and continuing to honor the life and legacy of Chad Nathan Harrell.

Because of the generosity of our community and the success of our annual silent/live auction, Keep the Spark Alive continues to provide programs and resources to combat teen suicide, support those left behind in the aftermath of suicide and honor the life of Chad Harrell.

Our annual fundraiser allows Keep the Spark Alive to continue funding Sources of Strength's (SOS) - an evidence-based prevention program combatting suicide, violence, bullying and substance abuse. By training, supporting, and empowering both peer leaders and caring adults, SOS impacts our world through the power of connection, hope, help and strength. In 2022, KTSA provided SOS funding for Blue Valley High Schools and Middle Schools. Additionally, we partnered with other family foundations and Johnson County Mental Health to fund Olathe, Shawnee Mission and Gardner.

Your support of this auction provides us the resources to make all these things happen. Thank you! To learn more about these programs and all of KTSA's initiatives, please go to KTSA.org. Thanks for your consideration to support.
