I am thrilled to extend you an invitation to join us at La Causa’s 2025 Celebration, the Guarding Dreams gala. This year’s event will be held on Sept. 11, 2025 in the stunning Rooftop Ballroom of the Baird Center.  

Childhood should be a time of wonder, safety, and opportunity—but for too many children, instability and crisis threaten their most precious years. At La Causa Crisis Nursery & Respite Center, we provide a safe haven for children and critical support for families, ensuring that children have a safe place to stay, escape, and just be a kid during the greatest times of stress. Our bilingual licensed 12-bed shelter on the south side of Milwaukee provides complete care for children aged from birth to 12 years old for up to 72 hours at no cost to families.   

Decades of research show that protecting children from Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)—such as abuse, neglect, and family crisis—leads to lifelong positive outcomes, including better health, stronger academic achievement, and greater economic stability.  

At this year’s event, we celebrate childhood dreams and the hope we can foster in children and families through La Causa Crisis Nursery and Respite Center. Guests will have the chance to experience the Magic and impact of the Crisis Nursery while participating in a silent auction, onsite fundraising games, live auction, and paddle raise. 

We need your help! We seek donations, including themed auction-ready baskets, gift certificates, products, hotel nights, gift items, merchandise, wine, and liquor. Your donation is tax-deductible (Tax ID # is 39-1247667) and visible to hundreds of people participating in our event. Your contribution will also be recognized on our event website where our auction items will be displayed and promoted ahead of the event.
