Just Neighbors is a 501(c)(3) that provides immigration legal services to low-income immigrants, refugees, and asylees. Our service area is Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We define low-income as 200% or below the federal poverty guidelines.

For 26 years, Just Neighbors has been helping immigrants achieve a legal immigration status, or adjust their status to receive green cards and US citizenship. As time goes on, our organization receives more and more requests for legal assistance. We currently receive anywhere from 40-60 calls a week, but only have the capacity to serve 20% of those who request our assistance.

Lady Liberty's Birthday Party is our annual fundraising event to fund immigration legal services. It includes an auction, a physical event with food and drinks, live music, and a program that includes speeches from clients and awards for community members that have gone above and beyond to help the immigrants we serve. Last year, we were able to raise $20,000 through ticket sales, auction items, sponsorships, and donations - helping a total of 20 immigrants and their families. This year, we hope to expand our auction and raise at least $30,000 to help 30 families. Every dollar that can be raised through this event can help one more family get a legal immigration status.
