My name is Shannon Duffy and I am the Director of the Sutton Free Public Library in Sutton, MA.  The library staff and I have begun organizing our big annual summer reading challenge. The goals of the summer reading program are to encourage all patrons, both young and old alike, to read for enjoyment and for the betterment of self. This year’s challenge begins Monday, June 23 and runs through Friday, August 15. The theme of this year’s program is Level Up at Your Library.  Designed for all ages, our summer reading challenge will highlight the concept that play is one of the ways we learn to relate to others, to think in new ways, and to foster friendships, new and old, through the use of puzzles and games. The goals of the summer reading program are to encourage all patrons, young and old, to unite the community through a shared love of reading, playing, and the love of the library.

A major aspect of organizing the summer reading challenge is the collection of prizes to award to patrons for their participation over the course of the summer. Not only do these prizes play a large part in garnering excitement for the program, but they also give the participants something to strive for as they compete and complete their summer reading goals.  However, with limited funds at our disposal, we need your help in order to make our summer reading program the very best it can be.  To this end, we are hoping that your business would be willing to make a donation to our program.  Any donation, whether merchandise, a gift card, or monetary, that you could make would be greatly appreciated.  If you are willing to assist us, the library would publicly recognize your generosity to our summer reading program and would make sure that our patrons know the important part you played in making our program a success.
