Light A Child's Future Charity Golf Tournament
Golf Tournament for Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse New YorkJun 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
On June 19, 2023, we will hold our second Annual Light a Child’s Future Charity Golf Tournament, including a Celebration Event following golf at Turning Stone Resort and Casino. All proceeds will benefit our Light A Chil'd Future Scholarship fund, enabling economically disadvantaged students to attend Catholic Schools in the Syracuse Diocese. More information about the event can be found on our website: https://www.syracusediocese.org/schools/light-the-way/
We are organizing both events to raise critically needed funds for our Catholic Schools Scholarship Program. During the past three years, many of our families have struggled to afford tuition to keep their children enrolled in our schools, as economic uncertainties, coupled with inflation and rising expenses have created difficult challenges for many of us. Our Celebration Event will feature a Silent Auction, which has typically been a source of generous support from our participants. During the event, guests will make bids on curated gift baskets, which include items and gift certificates donated by local businesses and organizations. Your donation will also generate visibility and excitement around your programs and offerings which we know would be of interest to our constituents.
The Catholic Schools Office is proud to serve our community of 4,500 students and families across 21 schools in Central New York. We serve students in Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, and Oswego counties. We know that when a family enrolls their child in a Catholic school, they are making a choice to join a faith-centered community. Now, to serve families most in need, we are seeking new ways to raise funds for our Light A Child’s Future Scholarship program, so that we can continue to offer a high quality education. Your support will help ensure all our students can attend our schools regardless of their families' socioeconomic status. Our schools are open to students of all faiths, and 15% of our students are not Catholic. We welcome the opportunity to teach them about the traditions and practices of our faith.
