Description
Literacy for Athletes was established in 2017. With this program student athletes recieve free books and opportunities for one on one instruction with volunteers. Volunteers listen to student athletes read and depending on competency will read to them. Our mission for this program is to implement a learning foundation before practices and allow extra help in articulation of reading. We are promoting this event year round and will host several events to increase the overall reading comprehension of our surrounding youth so they will ultimately score higher on testing and excel on the state standards.
