The purpose of Literary Legends is two-fold: (1) to recognize outstanding local authors, illustrators, and publishers for their extraordinary contributions to the art of letters, and (2) to raise needed funds for special programs and services provided by the Albany Public Library.

Literary Legends is a party in the library! It typically moves around from year to year to take place in different branches of the Albany Public Library. Last year’s We can’t wait to party with you at the Delaware Branch Library this year! 

This year, we are honoring two important writers, Edward Schwarzschild & Sylvie Kantorovitz. The Library will also honor community partner, Delaware Area Neighborhood Association. 

Literary Legends is the most important fundraiser of the year for the Albany Public Library. There will be a terrific online silent auction with athletic tickets, gift certificates, signed books, and artwork. Bidding on the silent auction will begin on September 23.
