The year 2020 has been full of challenges.  Never did we imagine the 40th year of Los Encinos School will be spent with no students, teachers, or staff on campus.  However, whether in-person or online, we are still “THE small school with a large commitment to every child” that provides richly integrated educational experiences for children in grades kindergarten through six. Los Encinos School’s mission and philosophy have remained the same as the school evolves to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s children and families.

During these unprecedented times, Los Encinos School took safety precautions to the next level by redesigning our campus to provide maximum protection for everyone who comes through its red gates.  Los Encinos School became one of four elementary schools to be granted a re-open waiver in Los Angeles County last fall and we welcomed back a small portion of students when schools had to stay closed.  All of this was made possible by the hard work of our Covid Task Force Committee and the generosity of our small community with a huge heart.  Our Stronger Together virtual event last year allowed us to purchase new washing stations, Pexiglass barriers, personal protective equipment, and state-of-the-art air filtration system.  We were able to provide weekly Covid testing to our staff as well.

Riding on last year’s success, a virtual event with online auction will be held on April 17, 2021 to raise funds to uphold campus safety protocols and to provide financial assistance for families in need.  We expect over 300+ guests as our community, past and present, come together and help each other get through these challenging times.  Donations of goods, services, and experiences for the virtual event are greatly appreciated.
