Description

The Torrance Chinese School has been providing South Bay students with Chinese language and cultural classes since 1989. With an enrollment of approximately 200 students, TCS is one of the largest Chinese language schools in Southern California. The purpose of this letter is to invite your organization to join TCS in supporting our raffle with a donation of gift cards, gift baskets or tickets.

Our annual fundraising event, the TCS Lunar New Year Celebration, will take place Saturday February 24, 2024.  The raffle is one of our main fundraising events and proceeds help support our enrichment courses in Chinese calligraphy & art, chess, charcoal & pencil drawing, as well as extracurricular activities such as our annual track meet, poster and idiom contests, mock SAT II, and our student-led cultural celebrations. Your donation would be acknowledged through our promotion of the event.

Studying another language and culture creates a spirit of diversity, openness and inclusion to our students and adds to the development of young minds. From kindergarten to high school level classes, our students learn everything from simple daily conversation to expressing opinions through verbal and written presentations.

TCS is a 501(c)3 non- profit organization (Tax ID# 33-0358552) and is led completely by our parent volunteers.  Our primary mission is to strive to produce promising students with diverse skills and backgrounds who become contributing members of the South Bay community. Our student body includes families living in the beach cities, Torrance, the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Harbor City, El Segundo, and Gardena.

Thank you for your consideration of this request.  We invite you to learn more about the Torrance Chinese School by visiting our website at www.torrancecs.org.
