Please support Our Village Closet’s (OVC) inaugural Mad About Plaid Fundraiser, on August 26, 2022. 

Every day in Sonoma County, between 50-75 children have open cases in the dependency system and hundreds of families are impacted by trauma associated with abuse and neglect. Yet the face of foster care in Sonoma County remains in the shadows for many. Mad About Plaid will be a fun and informative evening designed to shed light on this significant social issue. The increased challenges due to COVID-19 have stretched our resources to the limit, and we need our fundraising dollars to DO MORE so we can BE MORE for these fragile youth affected by foster care and the caregivers who nurture them. 

OVC’s fundraising efforts focus on continuing programs that ensure: 

● Sonoma County children affected by foster care receive needed clothing and shoes, toys and books, sports equipment, school and safety supplies 

● Sonoma County foster caregivers have training, support, and connection to resources that help navigate the complex dependency system 

● All Sonoma County youth and caregivers affected by foster care feel seen and heard 

● That Sonoma County becomes more trauma-informed and aware of ways to support the foster community
