Description

On Saturday, February 15, 1997, at 1:27 PM, the Garland Police Department suffered a tremendous and tragic loss. Police Officer Michael David “Mad Dog” Moore was killed in the line of duty while apprehending a bank robbery suspect at the Bank One on W. Centerville Rd. Michael David Moore was an avid outdoorsman and he loved to fish. We could think of no other tribute as fitting to our fallen brother’s memor than the creation of an annual bass tournament.

The tournament benefits the Garland Police Never Walk Alone Foundation. The foundation provides support; including financial support for medical treatment, travel and lodging assistance, and mental and physical support in
the home for officers in medical crisis.
