I’m writing to ask for Dodgers ticket donations for the Oxnard United 2010 Girls Soccer team. The Oxnard United provides these young ladies an opportunity to stay active and primarily, give them an opportunity to be part of something positive to keep them off the streets. In the last decade, Oxnard’s zip code 93030 had the highest rate of teen pregnancies in California. The rate is alarming and the coaching staff and parents are taking a retroactive approach to prevent these young individuals to become at-risk of diverting to a wrong path by keeping them involved in a sport. Parents are economically disadvantaged therefore, there is no fee to be part of the soccer club. Parents cover the referred fees and the club is delighted to give them an avenue to be involved in something positive. I am asking for Six Flags Magic Mountain ticket donations for our girls to visit the park. We may be close to Six Flags but with the expenses that the parents have to keep thier daughters involved and some parents having to work weekends, it makes it difficult for these young ladies to visit the park.
