Magical Memories a 501c3 non profit organization EIN 45-4816974 with the mission statement:
Striving to make Magical Moments and Forever Memories of children with life threatening and terminal illnesses and disabilities
Magical Memories reaches out to ill children in six main counties of Pa. (Union, Northumberland, Lycoming, Montour, Snyder and Columbia-and other surrounding counties if the need arises). Our goal is to make Magical Moments for the here and now for these children and turn them into Forever Memories for the families, especially in the event that one of these children succumbs to their horrid illness. Our main event of the year is an annual Christmas Extravaganza, which is a day in which these children can put their medical issues behind them for a moment in time to be “just a kid”. We provide a day full of elaborate decorations, food, entertainment of all kinds, including: dancers, magicians, ventriloquists, musicians, a past American Idol contestant, and puppet shows as well as crafts, games, fingerprint ornaments, professional photographers for family portraits, photo booths, candy buffets, chocolate fountains, petting zoo, balloon release, balloon artists, cookie decorating, gingerbread houses to decorate, soccer stations, professional artist pencil drawings of the children, face painting, temporary tattoos, Home Depot make and take station as well as a carnival area and arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus by fire truck. At the end of the day, each child receives a bag full of Christmas gifts, a Magical memories t shirt and memorabilia to remember the day. There is no cost to the families to attend this day, as many could not afford to come due to financial burdens placed on them due to their child’s medical constraints, so we hold a Chinese and Silent auction the day of the extravaganza to help offset the cost of providing this event for these children. We make this day very family oriented to include the entire family unit as a whole where they can make magical memories and enjoy life together one magical moment at a time.
