Make the Magic
Gala/Party for Camp Kesem NationalMay 04, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
My name is Zurisadai Guzman and I volunteer with an organization called Kesem.
We support children whose parents are affected by cancer- whether they are in remission, currently receiving treatment, or have unfortunately passed away. We work to bring together kids ages 6-18 facing similar situations to build a community of support and understanding. Kesem at University of Texas - Dallas is part of a national organization with chapters across the country. Our chapter specifically supports children throughout the greater DFW area, with all of our services being completely free of cost to our children and their families. With that being said, the funds we receive will support our annual summer camp program as well as our year-round services. The goal of our camp is to create a long-lasting community for the children so that no matter what happens, they know that they are not alone in their family’s cancer journey. Another goal is to give these kids who have had to grow up too soon a chance to be kids again and have fun without having to worry about their family member’s health. Additionally, our year-round services help to foster and continue this community by bringing these kids and their families together at other points throughout the year to create a place where they feel seen, understood, and supported.
We have an annual fundraising gala called Make the Magic where we raise a third of the funds needed to provide our year-round services. We were wondering if you would be willing to be a sponsor for Make the Magic! If you have any questions at all for us or are interested please feel free to reach out to us.
Thank you, we look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Zurisadai Guzman
