Description

Kesem is a 501c3 non-profit organization driven by passionate college student leaders that support kids through and beyond a parent's cancer. Each year, we provide a summer camp for children whose parent(s) has/had/passed away from cancer. We fundraise as college students so that our campers are able to attend camp entirely free of charge. We directly support children in San Diego County during one of the most confusing and traumatic times in their life. Our camp and the community we create increases their self-confidence and teaches them how to process their grief. We are the largest national organization dedicated to this unique population - supporting children with innovative, fun-filled programs that foster a lasting community.

On Saturday, March 8th, 2025, we will be having one of our biggest fundraisers of the year known as Make the Magic. Make the Magic is our annual charity gala where we host several events such as a silent auction and paddle raise. During this magical night, the guests in attendance will enjoy dinner, drinks, dessert, live entertainment, and excellent programming that demonstrates Camp Kesem's importance to our campers, counselors, alumni, and camper families. Many members of the San Diego community will be in attendance, including doctors, business owners, and UC San Diego faculty. This year, we aim to raise $70,000 through this event, with over 250 attendees, to help send more than 170 children, ages 6-18, to camp completely free of charge! The event will take place at the JULEP Venue in Downtown San Diego, CA. 

You can support us by donating vouchers, giftcards, or other merchandise for our silent auction during the charity event. You will be listed as one of our donors on our event program and social media. We know that this is a huge ask of generosity and kindness, but we really hope you will consider supporting our work. We could really use your help to make this year’s Make the Magic the most successful one yet!
